Blessings on the eve of this awesomely auspicious Winter Solstice 2010.  The best time to view the full moon lunar eclipse will be at 3:17 am on Tuesday, December 21st.  This is an incredibly powerful time to perform mantra, meditation and any kind of sacred spiritual ritual to activate and align with the Highest Good for yourself, the planet and everyone.  Dynamic spiritual changes are taking place and the time is now to, literally, imagine a better reality unfolding, with each breath we breathe, for yourself and everyone else.  Meditating on this for yourself, your loved ones, family and friends, as well as, for the collective will be a very purposeful and powerful thing…

The Imagine Peace Tower

I attended a Winter Solstice Celebration on Friday night at the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, Texas.  Apparently, it’s the 2nd largest Solstice Celebration in the country.  The whole evening was a tribute to the life and vision of John Lennon with song, dance and poetry led by some of the most beautiful spiritually-inspired people I know in Dallas.  This is the 30th year of his passing.  I actually share the same birthday as John Lennon on October 9th which is pretty special to me.  They opened the evening with a video of the Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland.  Yoko Ono first met John Lennon when he attended an exhibition of Ono’s artwork at a gallery in London on November, 9th 1966.  I don’t have all the blanks filled in, yet, but apparently he wanted to talk with her about a lighthouse he hoped to build and had her come to his house.  When you watch the video she talks about this.

Yoga Retreat to Iceland

Anyhow, on October 9th, 2007 they dedicated the Imagine Peace Light Tower, which they built in Iceland, to John Lennon and to peace on the planet.  This video is incredible and moving.  I hope you will watch it.  The reason they picked Iceland is because 80% of the country’s energy runs on water, not oil.  Yoko Ono says that when you go to Iceland you immediately feel like 10 years younger because the air is so clean, the water is so pure.  After watching that video I realized I want to go to Iceland!  Now, I’m feeling all of this inspiration for us to have a Yoga retreat there next year and I’m thinking the perfect time would be in October as a celebration of peace, healing, the collective spiritual transformation unfolding on the planet, and, John Lennon’s birthday and my birthday!  It’s only about a 4 hour flight from NYC and the tickets from NYC are very affordable.  I’m going to begin to put together a retreat for next year at that time and I will let you know when I have all of the information together.  I hope you’ll be able to join us and the world will live as One. :)  

Pure Light & Energy

As you can tell, I’m in a very inspired mood right now.  Well, these are incredible times we are living in as we realize the spiritual beings we are and the reality that while we live in a body and have a mind, we are not this body and we are not this mind.  You, me, we, are pure energy, pure spirit.  Anything is possible when we realize the reality of what we are.  This quote has been on the True Yoga Website for about 6 years now: 

All that we are is the result of what we have thought.  What we think we become. – Buddha

So, while we are not the mind, per se, it’s still completely important how we use this precious instrument of energy.  This is a lot of what the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book is about also.  Making better choices.  When we choose better, things get better.  It’s as simple as that.  And choosing better means what we are putting into our bodies and how we are spending our time, including the importance of meditation to awaken purity of consciousness and selfless love, as well as, dynamic will to be able to materialize thoughts into energy.  Yogananda says will-power is the ability to transform thoughts into energy.  This is also the same thing the Buddha was saying.  This means what you focus on you create.  So, what will you choose to focus on as you align your body, heart and mind in a better way for the benefit of yourself, but also, for the benefit of all, knowing, anything is possible?

Vegan Pumpkin Pie

As many of you know, I am still writing the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book.  This has been such an incredible process.  It’s amazing how when we open our minds to learning so much information flows into us.  I feel like I am overflowing with amazing things I would like to share.  The book will be published in April 2011 and is available for pre-order now on amazon.com.  This has been an amazingly transformational journey.  Just writing the book has been life-changing and healing for me on so many levels.  It’s helped me to grow healthier and to really understand, fully, why I believe what I believe about physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.  I’m looking forward to being able to share this journey of transformation with everyone, including, all of the excellent information in the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book.  There are so many delicious recipes in the book.  Did you know you can make Vegan Pumpkin Pie?  It tastes incredible.  When you make Vegan Pumpkin Pie you can eat it for breakfast because it’s so healthy for you.  Pumpkin is full of antioxidants and vitamins.  I hope you will find all of the information in the Fresh Fruit Cleanse book beneficial to you, your well-being and your life.

Vegan Pumpkin Pie

Mixture:

1 can pumpkin puree (not the pumpkin pie puree)

1 cup rice milk

3/4 cup agave

1/4 cup potatoe or cornstarch…(I use potatoe)

1 tablespoon maple syrup or more, just taste…you decide

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ginger

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 or 1/2 all spice….its in the spices at whole foods comes in a little box

Heat over to 425, blend all ingredients until smooth, you can taste it to make sure you like the flavor. Pour into the crust, bake 10 min the reduce oven to 350 and continue to bake for 50 minutes, let it cool to room temp and chill over night

**You can substitute Lite or Regular Coconut Milk for the Rice Milk which will make it creamier.  And, you can use regular pumpkin.  It doesn’t have to be puree.
