Hi…
Long time no post. Well, it’s understandable. As many of you know I’m writing a book about cleansing and healthy living practices such as Yoga, exercise, meditation, proper nutrition and, of course, surrounding oneself with healthy, positive people in life. The book will be published in Spring 2011. At this point, I’m writing about one chapter a week. Writing a book is an incredible process. It’s hard to put into words, exactly, what the process is like. But, basically, I would say it’s like a cleansing in and of itself. I’ve been reminded of this quote several times over the last couple of months.
‘Seclusion is the price of greatness.’ – Paramahansa Yogannada
It’s like the ultimate meditation and it is also a very solitary experience. It causes me to spend my time in the best way possible. I’ve marveled at how I spent my time in such ‘unfruitful’ ways in the past. In other words, how much time I wasted being completely unproductive. I’m glad the book has inspired me to focus my energy, both now and moving forward in life, to make better and better choices in spending my time in the best and most purposeful way possible. I’ve sort of decided to live this cleanse while I’m writing a book about it. Last week I pretty much only ate fruit and I felt great. This week I will incorporate other foods into my diet, but, I will still eat a lot of fruit. I’m falling in love with fruit in a whole new way. Writing this book has had me develop a deeper appreciation for fruit and I imagine that appreciation will stay. Fruit is incredible. Besides veggies, it really is the best food we can eat. It’s low in calories, high in water, vitamins, antioxidants, phytonutrients and cleanses and clears the digestive track and colon. It gives you radiant, glowing skin when you incorporate more fruit into your diet and less heavily cooked foods. I love fruit!
If you have never experienced a fresh fruit cleanse and would like to go through the 5 day cleanse, please email me at leanne@trueyogainc.com and I will send you the information. I would love to know about your experience. How you felt, what changed in your life, the positive benefits you experienced, etc. If you complete the cleanse and would be willing to write a testimonial by February 1, 2011, I would possibly like to include your experience and testimonial in the book which is entitled:
The Fresh Fruit Cleanse:
Detox, lose weight, and restore your health with nature’s most delicious food
The Fresh Fruit Cleanse has helped me tremendously over the years to make healthier choices in my life physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. If you are looking to make positive changes for your body, mind and spirit the Fresh Fruit Cleanse may be for you. Again, if you are interested please email me and I will send you all the info you need to complete the cleanse.
Because I am busy writing, it’s likely I will only be updating the True Yoga Blogs once a month. I appreciate your patience during this time. Once the book is published the blog will be updated more frequently again. But, there will also be many other wonderful resources on the True Yoga Blog in the months to come including online Yoga classes and many other beneficial tools and information.
One thing I wanted to share which I thought was so powerful was a quote from the movie Eat, Pray, Love which I finally got to see last Thursday night. In the movie, Elizabeth Gilbert (Julia Roberts) has finally gotten to Bali and achieved perfect balance or so she believes. Every morning she meditates for 20 minutes, then she goes to see a medicine man and spends the rest of her day enjoying herself in paradise, until she falls in love and her whole world falls out of balance. There is a scene in the movie where she feels like all of her balance has been lost and her whole world is coming undone becaus of love and she gets afraid and decides to end it with her boyfriend and walk away. In a very emotional scene he says to her that she thinks balance is meditating every morning for 20 minutes, then going to see a medicine man but that’s not balance. And, then, the quote I love that he says is:
Balance is not allowing anyone else to love you less than you love yourself.
That’s been a big lesson for me recently and I’m grateful to finally have a quote to put it so beautifully into words. Cleansing, Yoga, meditation, any positive practices in life are practices where we learn to love ourselves. Through loving ourselves we can love others and be loved by others better and better all the time. Love and life is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the journey, surrender to the Flow and love yourself along the way.
