Alive and Healthy Institute...
This past weekend, I had the opportunity of attending an excellent seminar called Diet, Nutrition and Consciousness with Blair Lewis, PA, Founder of Alive and Healthy Institute: Building a Bridge between Spirituality and Medicine. This event was held at Om Life Yoga in Uptown Dallas. Mr. Blair taught us about how our emotions can affect the health of our body, mind and spirit both positively and detrimentally, and how to bring ourselves into balance to create optimal health and wellness physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually...In the past few years, I've began to experience how every illness I've had is connected to something emotional... In the beginning of November of this year, I came down with a very bad case of bronchitis, which took me about a month to completely cleanse out of my system and get rid of the lingering cough. During the first few days when I was really sick, I experienced a tremendous amount of anger and frustration, as well as, sadness. And, not coincidentally, I actually had a very heated argument with my father, one that I provoked. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to apologize the next day and create a tremendous amount of healing and release for both myself, and him.
At the seminar, Blair taught that there is a direct connection between emotions and illness. He mentioned that there is not one sinus infection he has ever treated, that did not have held back anger and tears behind it. He also talked about a lady he had treated who had initially had her appendix removed, then had ovarian cancer, and later struggled with thyroid problems and depression. Blair said that any type of cancer of the female reproductive organs, is either related to that woman having had a tragic break-up/lost love or abortion.
So then, how do we begin to heal our emotional Self so that our bodies are healthy and well and free of disease? The first step, according to Blair, is to put our lives in balance. To eliminate The Four C's and to begin to focus on creating peace and Well-Being. Practices like Relaxation, Breathing, Yoga are some of the most beneficial ways to heal tension in ourselves whether it's physical, emotional, or mental. But, in order to truly begin this process, we must cleanse The Four C's out of our system:
-Caffeine
-Carbonation
-Coffee
-Cigarettes
Each of these substances disturbs our Being on every level and disconnects us from the Divine Source of Life all around us. This does not mean that we can never have caffeine again, but in moderation, not excess. If you'd like more information on Blair Lewis visit his website at: Alive and Healthy Institute
